Hardinge MACH sales break 2M barrier!...
Hardinge Machine Tools has announced that new machine sales directly attributable to orders and enquiries resulting from the MACH 2012 exhibition have exceeded the £2M mark.
'It says a lot of very positive things about the machines we are offering our UK customer's and their confidence in manufacturing at the present time,” claims Martin Doyle, Hardinge UK's sales and marketing manager.
'The equation is very simple. If machines are being purchased, customers have things to make and are prepared to invest in their future. That's not what we always hear but it seems to be an underlying trend,” he adds.
At MACH, Hardinge featured 8 turning and milling machines covering the spectrum from entry level general purpose machines to high end 5 axis as well as third party representations with Quaser and Biglia machining centres.
The Quaser machines in particular are proving to be highly popular,” Martin Doyle explains. 'None more so than the MF400C which offers a highly affordable entry level into non-simultaneous 5 axis machining. Many of those expressing real interest in the machine have commented it is an ideal 'all rounder' in sub contract environments in particular.”
John Waterworth, managing director of Chorley based Alan Gordon Engineering Co. Ltd. purchased an MF400C on the first day.
'It's important as part of our strategic growth that we embrace 5 axis machining and we have identified the 400C as an ideal multi-face machining centre,” he explains.
With a long history of purchasing from Hardinge - Bridgeport machines in particular - this Chorley based manufacturer has a wide range of engineering products to meet the varied requirements of different sectors of manufacturing industry including the nuclear, aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical, printing and food processing sectors.
Another high end machine that created a lot of interest at MACH was the Biglia Smart Turn 'S multi-axis turn-mill centre which offers a fully integrated machining solution combining turning and milling to create a perfect lathe / machining centre combination supplemented by a sub spindle to enable the completion of all operations in a single cycle.
Two of these machines were sold off the stand at MACH, one to Tewkesbury based Specialist Engineering Systems Ltd whose managing director George Pollard was so pleased with his purchase he brought both the day and night shifts from his factory to MACH to view their newest arrival!
